Supplement Labels Made Simple
Every Supplement Facts box follows the same pattern. Here is how to read one, using BreathiZen as the example.
Start with the serving
Find the serving size and the servings per container. BreathiZen lists four sprays as one serving, with 100 servings in a 2 oz bottle.
Understand the blend
A proprietary blend shows one total weight, with the ingredients listed from the largest amount to the smallest. BreathiZen shows 154 mg of a blend made of mullein leaf extract, ginger root extract and organic lemon extract.
Scan the other ingredients
These are the supporting ingredients, such as water, glycerin and natural flavors. Anyone with allergies should read this line carefully.
